The Voice of the City vocal competition is the result of a convergence of events that started three years ago. The Columbus Children's Choir was looking for a creative fund raising event while their supporters and people in and around the Columbus arts community were looking to create an opportunity for our incredibly talented young people to showcase their singing abilities.

The competition has grown each year in number of participants and caliber of talent. Our experienced and educated panel of judges helps decide who, year to year, is our Voice of the City, based on:

• Voice
• Singing ability
• Personality
• Showmanship
  

The Central Ohio area is brimming with young, talented singers and each year the decision gets harder and harder.

We're taking applications for the our next competition now. Auditions are:

• Friday, February 5th
• Saturday, February 6th
• Sunday, February 7th  

Auditions are held in the rehearsal rooms of the Columbus Children's Choir, 760 E. Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43205. The deadline for applications is January 29, 2010.
